Excellence Reporter: Sherry, what is the meaning of life?
Sherry Maysonave: I discovered that the real me, my soul, existed separate from my body, when I was a mere five years of age. Although young, I integrated the importance of staying connected to my soul, my spirit. Throughout the decades, this link has proven to be essential for me to find authentic and lasting meaning in life.
And yes, there have been times when I’ve lost this spirit connection. That’s when I slip into becoming one of the walking dead. During these times, regardless of worldly success, I am caught in an unsatisfying daily grind. Life becomes mundane and lackluster. It loses the wonder and mystery I feel when connected to my inner spirit.
While it’s not a one-size-fits-all endeavor, realizing a deeper meaning in life IS about knowing or discovering what makes your heart hum and buzz with an abiding fulfillment. The key here is abiding—not fleeting—fulfillment, one that nests inside you, even in the face of sorrow and/or difficult circumstances.
In today’s complex and harried world, it can be challenging to gain glimpses of Heaven right here on Earth. And yet, that is our exact task. Try tuning into the beauty, love, grace, and abundance that is all around us every day. The Divine is everywhere, in all things, in all people, in all creation. The possibilities of experience are infinite.
Everyone has a soul. When connected to the spirit part of being human, navigational signposts exist on all pathways. These signs, if acknowledged, listened to, and acted upon, are there to lead us to greater contentment and fulfillment. And that could mean venturing into areas that defy logic and challenge some beliefs.
It’s all a choice.
Invite your spirit to join your unique life journey. Choose to live an unabridged, soul-connected life, one that’s chocked full of hope, wonder, and significant meaning.
