Excellence Reporter: Gillian, what is the meaning of life?

Gillian Reid: When I as much as think of the meaning of life, my heart pounds in response.

For me, the sole purpose of the meaning of life resides in being true to the ultimate language of our heart. To respect our heart and live in coherence with it, we must be still and learn its language for its language is but a constant, gentle whisper, like a mother’s lullaby easily lost in the wind. 

The true language of the heart is itself the language of the universe and all that is within it. The heart’s language is pure and simple like a child and it reveals itself through a smile, a smile that emits a frequency of love and compassion connecting to all that is, was and will ever be. 

Over the years I have learnt to smile from within, loving and connecting to every atom of my being, allowing my radiant, infinite self to expand. As I carry my inner light, I direct my passion for life to serve for the good of the universe. I encourage the young and old to connect to their heart vibration with the belief that, one by one, as we heal our soul we heal mother earth, so desperately in need just like us.  

How do I find my inner smile even in times of great darkness? I rejoice in every instant of the day and give thanks for the essence of life itself, knowing that in everything there is a lesson for my good and for the good of humanity. Man learns by looking back at past experiences and makes choices, although not always wise, on the basis of them.

Living and rejoicing in every present moment, my past becomes a pathway to joy and I can only look forwards with great expectations and smile from within for I am blessed.

~Gillian Reid is of Jamaican origin, born in the Uk and moved to Italy in 1985.

Over the years, she has dedicated heart and soul to the practices of Taijiquan and Qigong. She currently teaches freelance throughout Europe, working with adults and children. She uses Biospirals Method Qigong and the Universal Healing Tao system as a tool to aid spiritual awakening.
