Excellence Reporter: Amita, what is the meaning of life?
Amita Trasi: The meaning of life is to live! I cannot find a better definition!:-)
There was a time, in my late teens when I went in search for the meaning of life. I happened to choose two things: writing a journal and meditation—searching my thoughts and exploring the silence behind it! Both proved to be a potent combination.
And as a result I discovered that for me, life is in the experience—in feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin, in feeling the brush of breeze on my face, in seeing the innocence in the eyes of my pets, in walking on the ground that holds me up, in watching the flowers that flower for us, in simply resting in the movement of clouds.
It is this oneness that propels me to write, so I can walk a mile in someone’s shoes leaving myself (whoever that is) behind; it is this silence that compels me to feel and echo the pains and pleasures of life and pour it onto pages. In not seeking the meaning in it, therein lies the meaning!
