Excellence Reporter: Rev. Donna, what is the meaning of life?

Rev. Donna Schaper: The meaning of life is golden, as in the golden rule, which is really a recommendation as opposed to a rule. It is the rule of one, that what happens to you also happens to me. We are not two but one.

We are also only able to connect to each other sideways not frontways. By that I mean that loving God, as golden suggests, needs to come first. When we go outside of each other, we are able to love each other. When we are just with another mortal, we find ourselves too mortally involved.

God gives a way out of obsessing on each other, whether our limitations or our gifts. The meaning of life is to be gold.
