If your church has a huge stage for you to work with, you’re going to need proper front and back lighting. Now, you may have a preacher who likes to stand still and you may have one that likes to move around a lot. That’s why the stage has to be evenly lit at all times.

2. Installation 

Next up is the installation process. If you have the money in your church lighting budget to hire a professional, that might be for the best. They’ll be able to walk around your church and figure out which bulbs and options for fixtures will be right for you. 

If you have no choice but to DIY, be careful. If you mess up you might end up spending more than it would have cost to hire a professional. 

3. LEDs

When in doubt, go with LED lights. They’re budget-friendly, good for the environment, and they require very little maintenance. They can be a bit bright which is fine if you’re working with an older congregation. The younger crowd responds better to a dimmer environment. 

The good news is that one of the benefits of LEDs is they come with dimming and even color-changing options most of the time. So, you’ll be able to switch up the lighting whenever the mood calls for it. 

4. Have a Little Fun 

Another thing the younger crowd responds well to is fun. Once you have the basics down, consider springing for a few interesting visual effects. You may not use them for every service but breaking them out every now and again could be a great way to shake things up.
