Excellence Reporter: Leigh, what is the meaning of life?
Leigh Brasington: I don’t know what the meaning of life is. I gave up on that question a long time ago. The question that seems more important to me is “What are you doing to make this world a better place for your having been here?”
All of us contribute to the unfolding of the Universe and our contributions, no matter how large or small they may be, either make the Universe a better place or a worse place.
Excellence Reporter: So what are you doing to make this world a better place?
Leigh Brasington: Teaching meditation. Being a good friend to lots of people. Driving an electric car. Trying to minimize my use of resources.
I donated over 3000 hours of computer programming to create a Tibetan word processor and database program for aiding several Tibetan text preservation projects; the program is still available for free. I created 2 dozen other Windows programs that are also available free. I created a free website with resources for subjects from Buddhism to Science to Politics.
