Excellence Reporter: Lie, what is the meaning of life?
Lie Hoogenberk: The meaning of life to me is to:
‘Explore all layers of experience.’
Physical, emotional and mental.
And to see that your freedom lies in this exploration.
Even though humans would like to be reassured of a meaning of life, there is only life!
The idea of giving a meaning to life is a functioning of our mind. If you would just look around you, and see the earth with it’s animals, insects, bacteria, plants, trees, water, and other life forms you could not find a purpose or meaning there. Everything in life as we perceive it is just living, aging or dying.
Allow every experience you have. Stay open wherever you are, whatever you do. Then you can start to see the beauty in the mess. To be able to do this you need to be completely honest, open and true to yourself. This I know is not easy, as you might have experienced. But in the end it’s not about how many scars you can carry. It’s really about how you can still love yourself carrying your scars.
On a daily basis the meaning of life to me is to see the extra-ordinary in ordinary life. To be fascinated by simple pleasures, sensations and imaginations. Because everything is a matter of perspective. And ‘looking at things differently’ is always and only possible from your own subjective view. Your life is an authentic story happening in this very moment.
Let yourself be surprised!
I have always been fascinated by life. The way we live, what we do and why we do what we do. Most of my time I have struggled just being me. Even though I have had insights in the true nature of what I really am. Having insights can help you to feel more at peace and to be compassionate in your life, and that’s what happened with me. I guide and support others how to discover their needs and authentic expression.
By being myself I give others the chance to do the same.
