Excellence Reporter: Lauren, what is the meaning of life?

Lauren Jonas: The meaning of life to me is about passion — whether it’s in relationships or work. I was fortunate enough to find something that I was so incredibly passionate about and made it my life’s work. 

I believe it was Albert Schweitzer who said, “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” 

I feel so blessed to have co-founded Diablo Ballet in 1993 and it’s still alive today. If you work at a job, you will just work for the money. But if you believe in what you do, you will work at it with blood, sweat and tears and the rewards are endless.

I have always had a dream to give back through my work. Isn’t that why we are here on this earth? To make a difference through something you are passionate about!
