Daniel Merriam on The Meaning of Life

We are simpletons in the greater scheme of things lucky to be here enjoying a sliver of reality.

imageExcellence Reporter: What is the meaning of life, Daniel?

Daniel Merriam: The meaning of life for me seemed to begin at my conception, born to an awareness of a spirit formed of molecules and atoms that had already traveled light years through infinity. I’m a tiny share of this matter that forms intelligence, a cognition that senses fear, pain, beauty or bliss.

The majority of my life was compressed into the first 7 years. The rest of it is just decompressing from that intense time when I was shaking off the effects of time travel. We are small and seem insignificant but our egos forge ahead into a confidence that blinds us all. Our thin layer of a much greater reality was kept simple to keep our ego intact. We are simpletons in the greater scheme of things lucky to be here enjoying a sliver of reality.
