Oscar Wilde on the Meaning of Life

Oscar

Well in my opinion the meaning of life is to write one or two good poems and get as much bum as one can.

I put all my genius into my life; I put only my talent into my works.

The aim of life is self-development. To realize one’s nature perfectly – that is what each of us is here for.

I wrote when I did not know life; now that I do know the meaning of life, I have no more to write. Life cannot be written, life can only be lived.

To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that’s all.
